Covid Notice

Sunday, May 21, 2022

Dear Parents,

The 3rd grade class had a child test positive for Covid on Saturday. The test was at a hospital. The health center called the home and told the mother that no one at the school is considered a close contact. Only the family is considered to be in close contact. The child will be out of school for 10 days and the sibling will be out for 7 days according to the health center rules. The rest of the family have tested negative, but will be tested again today. The student had a fever of 37.7 yesterday but is eating and feeling fine.

Even though the likelihood of infection through surface contact is very low, I will disinfect the 3rd and 4th grade classroom carefully today after church. We always wear masks in the classroom, eat outside, and practice careful social distancing, so I think we will be fine. We will have school as normal on Monday. If any student in the 3/4 class wants to stay home for a few days just on the side of precaution, the absence is excused.

Some schools are not notifying parents or closing classes. As corona BA-4 turns into BA-5, and more changes occur, it seems clear that many of us will become infected. Remember this and please do not allow your child to bully or shame anyone who might get sick.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Brown
