Greetings and welcome to New Life International School! NLIS is a small but growing kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school that provides an English Christian education in the beautiful valley of Kofu City in Yamanashi Japan. We currently have grades 1 through 8 from April 2020-2021, and from April 2021, we will have grades K, ages 4 and 5, through grade 9. We are working hard to open a kindergarten this fall, 2020. If you are interested, please contact us.
We encourage you to visit our school and see that we are a school committed to children. You will find that this is a vibrant and engaging community of teachers and learners.

Nov. 6 Field Day
We are following all CDC requirements to keep safe from the current pandemic. We are working hard to keep our environment as safe as possible and feel that our small school is ideal for this challenge. These are the precautions we take:
Students, teachers, and staff wear masks or face shields indoors at all times.
The students sit at least one meter away from each other and face forward.
We wash our hands every time we leave or enter the classroom in designated sinks.
All grades enter and exit the school at assigned doorways and at staggered times.
We ask all volunteers and parents to avoid entering the building during school days unless they have a reservation.
Lunches are eaten in the classroom and not in the cafeteria.
Students practice social distance even outside and wear gloves if any equipment is used in physical education classes.
Our music classes have no singing at this time. We are playing instruments that do not require breath, i.e. handbells, ukuleles, and percussion instruments.
All students check their temperatures every morning and bring a temperature chart to school each day.
At the end of each day, all students and teachers disinfect all areas of classrooms, restrooms, halls, and sinks with bleach water.
We are an active school full of learning, friendships, concerts, art fairs, science fairs, and more! Schedule an appointment to come and observe our classes!
