Alert from the Child Care Section of Kofu City Hall regarding

"Herpangina <Vesicular Stomatitis>”


This is to inform you that Herpangina infection has entered the alert level in Kofu City.


[Number of infected cases]

Number of herpangina cases reported

per fixed point: 8.0 (June 26-July 2)

The alarm level is raised when the number of cases exceeds 6.0


NOTE: NLIS has one case.


[Route of infection]

Droplet infection, contact infection, etc.


[Symptoms]

High fever (38-40 degrees Celsius) and blisters on the throat

Inability to eat or drink can lead to dehydration, which can lead to severe illness.


[Preventive measures]

Wash hands thoroughly and avoid sharing towels.

Avoid close contact with infected people. Gargling and coughing etiquette are also effective.


[Others]

Infants are more susceptible, but adults with weakened immune systems can also contract the disease.
