December News

November 26, 2021

Dear Parents,

The holidays are coming soon! Before the holidays, we have three busy weeks of school.

November 29-December 3 is our Food Bank Drive. Please help by donating canned goods, rice, and other food items with at least a 3-month expiration date.

December 2, our kindergarten class will present a short Christmas play. We will take a video of it and put it on the school’s YouTube channel for you to watch.

December 3, Friday, is a movie and library day.

December 3, Friday, is the 6th grade trip to Disney Land.

December 8, Wednesday, from 7 to 9 pm, all teachers and board members will have a 2-hour workshop with WASC. We are continuing to work toward accreditation. There will be two more workshops, on January 27 and on February 17, both are 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Parents are invited to these workshops, so if any can participate on Zoom, please let me know.

December 9, Thursday, report cards will be given.

December 16 & 17, Thursday and Friday, grades one through 9 will present Christmas dramas and music, songs, handbells, and ukuleles. We will take a video of it and put it on the school’s YouTube for our parents.

December 17, Friday, is our last day before the holidays. It is NOT a half-day. We will dismiss at regular times on the 17th. All classes will have a party to celebrate. Could you please have your child bring one wrapped gift by Tuesday, December 14? It should be between 500 to 700 yen. If your child is a girl, she should bring a girl's gift. If your child is a boy, he should bring a boy's gift. Please mark your child's name on the gift. Obento is needed on this day, but snacks are not needed since we will be having parties with snacks provided by the parent volunteers. Thank you to all parent volunteers!

We will be closed until Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

If you have any questions, please see your child's teacher. We are all happy to help you.

Merry Christmas!
