February News (a little early)

The winter months are going fast! Students and teachers are busy with learning, growing, and making good memories.

In winter, we sometimes have a little snow. If it snows, please look at the website for updates on any school cancellations or postponements. Your child’s teacher will try to contact you personally, but we have had trouble in the past reaching everyone. If the snow is safe for driving in Kofu, we generally do NOT cancel school. We might ask the students to come from 10:00 to help give time for the roads to clear. Since many of our families do not live in Kofu, and the weather conditions are different depending on where you live, the parents may choose not to bring the children to school if it snows. The absence will not count on those days.

The Christmas Market in December was a wonderful success! Thank you for all the donations and for coming and buying items to support this event. We were able to make ¥33,020. That is more than we made at the Asahi Festival a few years ago.

Thank you to all the dear parents and students who helped the teachers and staff feel loved. We all received cards and treats on January 19, Teacher Appreciation Day. Thank you!

Please see the February calendar of events below.

Please stay warm and have a great weekend!
