Updates for May

Monday, May 22 is a teacher’s workday, so students are off on this day. The teachers are working hard to finish the school report for WASC accreditation.

Monday, May 29 is a field trip to Kawaguchiko! The students will walk to Kofu Station and leave from a hired bus at 9:30 to Kawaguchiko and watch a monkey show at Kawaguchiko Sarumawashi Theater at 11:00. Afterward, the bus will drive to a local park where the students and teachers can eat an obento lunch and play until 2:00. Arrival time back to the school should be by 3:15. If any of the parents would like to join, please come! Unfortunately, there is not room on the bus, but we would love for parents to meet us there.

The children may bring extra money for drinks or souvenirs, but the teachers will not be responsible for the money, since they must watch the children carefully. The cost for adults at the theater are 900 yen for the group rate. If you want to join, please tell us ahead of time, so we can book the group rates to include you.

Your Comment Counts
There is a comment box in the front entrance area. Parents and students are encouraged to leave suggestions or comments in the box. The Principal will read the English and Masumi, our secretary will read the ones in Japanese. We value your input and hope to build our school into the best international school we can be!

New Bookkeeper
Please welcome Tamaki Arano, our new bookkeeper. She has a lot of experience, is highly qualified and is a lovely person. Aiko is training Tamaki now. Aiko has to take some time off for health reasons. She will take a leave of absence from July. Please pray for Aiko and her family.

Special Speakers, June 8
We are thrilled to have a Travel Storyteller, Heather Hope, come to our school on Thursday, June 8 at 2:20. They visited us before and the stories are culturally educational, humorous, and fascinating! Parents are invited to come, too. Please see more about Heather Hope here:
