Bilingual Japanese Class

Japanese Classes at New Life International School

New Life International School offers two tracks for Japanese classes. Track one is typically for native Japanese students who speak Japanese at home. They study national Japanese texts with Japanese teachers. Only Japanese is used in this class. The second class, "track two," is typically for students who speak another language at home. They have a bilingual teacher and study for the Japanese Language Proficiency Tests, N5 through N1. The N2 is what the Japanese colleges and many companies require for entrance.

All children must buy the Japanese books. The school orders the books for the track one classes since they are not easily obtained. The school then informs the parent of the price owed for the books each year.

Please see below the book(s) the students need for “Track Two,” the bilingual class. We ask the parents to order these directly. All the books are on Amazon.co.jp. Students need the books by April 15.

Track Two students also work independently in Japanese class on “Duolingo for schools.”  All students must bring an email address to create an account on April 11. They can work on this site at school and home daily.

If you have any questions, please see your child’s teacher or ask anyone in the office.
