Covid Case

Tuesday, June 28, 2022

Dear Parents,

The 4th-grade class had a child test positive for Covid today. The test was at a hospital. No one at the school is considered “close contact.” Only the family is considered to be in close contact. The child will be out of school for 10 days and the sibling will be out for 7 days according to the health center rules. Families are no longer required to take the PCR test, unless they have a fever. The student had a fever of 39.7 last night and today, but he is resting at home and will recover soon.

Even though the likelihood of infection through surface contact is very low, I have disinfected the 3rd and 4th grade classroom carefully today. We always wear masks in the classroom and practice careful social distancing, so I believe we will be fine. If any student in the 3/4 class wants to stay home for a few days just on the side of precaution, the absence is excused.

Some schools are not notifying parents or closing classes. As corona BA-4 turns into BA-5, and more changes occur, it seems clear that many of us will become infected. Remember this and please do not allow your child to bully or shame anyone who might get sick.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Brown
