Dear NLIS Parents,
Summer vacation is flying by! I hope it has been a restful and restorative time for you and your children.
We are excited to welcome two new students to our secondary school this fall, and several other students may be joining us later. We are thankful to see our school continuing to grow!
We have a busy fall ahead, filled with learning, special activities, and opportunities for students to make wonderful memories together. Below are the important dates and plans for September.
WELCOME BACK & SECONDARY SCHOOL OPENING CEREMONY
Monday, August 31 — Half Day (No Lunch) • All students should arrive at the Asahi campus by 8:50 a.m. • Secondary students: Please leave your belongings in the former high school homeroom, then go to the auditorium. • Elementary students: Please go directly to your classrooms. • 9:15–9:45 a.m.: Families are invited to the New Life International Secondary School Opening Ceremony. There will be short speeches in English and Japanese, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. We expect newspaper coverage, so please have students looking their best! • After the ceremony, elementary students will return to class. Secondary students will walk to Shiobe, and parents are welcome to join them for a short tour and a cold drink. • Parking at Shiobe is limited to six cars.
